Clare graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and Art History from Goldsmiths College in 2002. In the years that followed, she supported her practice by studying yoga, anatomy, and contemporary expressive portraiture in London. After the birth of her daughter, Clare relocated to the Kent coast, where motherhood reshaped her artistic focus.

Now, Clare’s work centres on a daily drawing practice: capturing her daughter Maggie asleep. In the stillness of these moments, she looks for an honesty that’s both timeless and fleeting. Drawing Dreamlands began as a way to hold onto these early years—before the chaos of the school run, before the quiet moments disappear.

From this body of work, Clare also takes on portrait commissions for families who wish to preserve their own dreamlands.
